Born and raised in Massachusetts, Michael started very early stopping time. By age 10ish Michael was shooting and processing images with nothing more than a cardboard Quaker Oats container turned into a poor man's pinhole camera. Then came the homemade darkroom in a corner of the parent's garage; college/s (a couple of degrees); sports (gymnastics, climbing and cycling mostly); travel (North America, Africa, Middle East, Europe, Asia for climbing and cultural indulgence); college again (why not?); marriage (lucky dude); a child (very cool kid and easy in front of a lens) - all the while commissioned to travel internationally to photograph portraiture, food, lifestyle, architecture & industrial images. Michael is known for his organic style and tireless attention to detail. He works with clients ranging from Fortune 500 Companies to the Music, Health Care, and Academic Communities as well as privately owned businesses. People appreciate that Michael brings to every project either a full solution from conception to delivery or integrates within a design team. He is founding partner & creative director of Black Sun®, a full service commercial studio marked by excellence in art, service & business. Sometimes he can be found at home in the "Happy Valley" of Penn State Univ.
